Formerly Stormy’s ATC Gymnastics, the Cortez Area Youth Activity Center, or CAYAC, is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and operating a youth activity facility. Our vision is to have a fun, educational, and life-changing experience for every youth who walks through our doors. Not merely a place for kids to “hang-out”, it will offer kids:
Lifelong skills
Relationships with mentors
A chance to become a mentor to someone else
Before COVID, Stormy’s ATC Gymnastics was the only major youth program in Cortez to operate year-round. Since COVID, many youth programs have shut down leaving a huge void. Since 2013, CAYAC Director Randy Quillin has been trying to get a youth activity center built, but now the need is critical. For this reason, in January of 2022 Randy incorporated CAYAC as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Currently operating in the Tire Max building at 126 E. Main Street, CAYAC presently offer gymnastics and martial arts. However, they soon plan to add dance, drama, and video productions to their schedule. Later many more programs, such as wrestling and cheerleading, will be added. Other suggested classes range from cake decorating to art classes to youth yoga.
Organize and offer as many fun, wholesome youth programs as possible
Build as single, kid-friendly facility to house
the programs.
